And I'm back!!..... with EFY!

Okay sorry for that EXTREMELY long wait. Honestly, I had kind of give up on this blog since no one was commenting. I only write for feedback. So if you want to keep this blog alive, comment! I'm continuing this blog once again only because one of my best friends decided to start up their blog again. So I will try to post on the 20th of each month so try to check back every once and awhile.

      ¤E.F.Y.¤
Just recently I had the opportunity to do something amazing. I got to go to EFY. I met so many wonderful people there. I made a good new 42 friends. Which is a little ironic to me since one of my favorite songs is "42" by my favorite band, Coldplay (Go down further to see post on the Coldplay concert).  Every person I met there had something in their eyes that I hope I had. Can you guess what they had? A love of being there. They didn't just come for new people or because their parents forced them to go. They went because they wanted to be there. I just hope I was looking like them.

One of the best things to me at EFY, was rooming with my best friend, Alex Clawson (The one on the right in the above picture). Although I'm sure for him, I was just a nuisance (=D). One of the first things I did when we got into our room, was opening the window and saying "Girlllllls!!!". Alex quickly ran over to the window, pushed me out of the way, and shut the window. We think that will be a joke we use for a very long time. ^_^

Well we decided to attend the Overnight Program rather than the Area Program. I personally would rather take the Overnight Program because then you can actually feel EFY sink into your life a bit more.

At EFY, there is a talent show formally called the Variety Show. I tried out for this Variety Show with a piano version of "Viva la Vida" by Coldplay. I sadly didn't make it, but plenty of other good acts made it. Although when all the boys in my company found out I didn't make it, they tried to comfort me saying that I was way good at piano considering I taught myself. Thanks guys =). You're the best.

However at EFY, there was something wrong. Apparently last week a giant case of Swine Flu broke out among everyone attending EFY. See, at EFY, the guys are supposed to escort one of the girls in their company everywhere they went. But since the Swine Flu broke out last week, all forms of touching were banned. Even high-fives were banned. So guess what this meant? No slow dances. However, we had the best session director ever directing our session of EFYL: Brother Robely. He talked to the board and convinced them to bring back the slow dancing! But still no escorting. That made all the guys sad. But we got through okay.

Another thing that was a downer at EFY, was all the rain. It was crazy how much it rained everyday. The worst was on Friday night after the second dance. It rained so hard on us as we struggled to make our way to our dorms. I personally liked the rain as I got to run with the girl I was escorting (Chloe!! =D) all the way to our dorms. We were screaming and both grinning from ear-to-ear.

But the rain wasn't all that bad. One of the best things at EFY were the two dances we had. Our first was on Tuesday night and it was a casual dress. As we arrived to the dance location, though, it started raining on us (Go figure)! So we had to move inside of the building and have our dance inside with the other session. There was barely and room to dance. You were seriously always touching someone. On Friday night, the dance was moved back outside and it was much better. Although 15 minutes before it was supposed to end, the giant rain/lighting storm hit. The lighting was very close to the mountain side and most of the kids decided to run to their dorms. But it was still fun. =)

Well I think it's about time to wrap up this post, sadly. It was fun to write. Thanks for reading! Please follow and/or comment!! Thanks!  If you have any suggestions or tips, please contact me at connor@thinktankcc.com. Thanks again.
